Buying a home is one of the most exciting things you can ever do. So, it’s important to make sure you don’t do anything to jeopardize your success during the process.
There are four things I’d like to share that will prevent you from losing your deal when buying.
Buying a home is an exciting process, but there are a few things that can jeopardize your deal.
- Don’t quit your job. This may seem obvious, but I’ve seen it happen. Even if your job change is because you are relocating, quitting could cause you to no longer qualify for your loan. Talk to your lender about how to make your transition seamless.
- Don’t take out new credit. This could mean anything from signing up for a retail store’s credit card to financing furniture and more. This could absolutely terminate your deal and drop your credit rating.
- If you work for an hourly wage, avoid unpaid sick days. This can absolutely hinder your deal. You might even lose some buying power.
- Don’t close any credit cards. The best thing you can do is to pay credit cards down, but not entirely off. The minute you close an account, your credit rating will drop. Keeping even just a few dollars in an account is enough.
